We get teeth

Guess who got another tooth this week?  Micah's 9th tooth made it's appearance and this time it's a big one.  On the left, at the back, not right at the back, but not right next to his 4 teeth in the front.  Tony says it's one of his front molars.  Okay, so his first molar!  The left front molar!

Yes, I have another tooth!
What a journey his teething has been!  He feels the pain and we know all about it.  We live on Vidol and red Panado syrup.  He gets super angry and frustrated when in pain.  Last week Sunday, we all got ready for church but I decided to stay at home with him, as he was crying, no, screaming in pain the whole morning (now we know why).

Jethro on the other hand was so easy, we did not even know he was teething.  We discovered his first tooth at 6 months, when the teaspoon went clink on something in his mouth and upon closer inspection we discovered a little toothie!  And that's how it went with the rest!  I was always baffled when other mothers talked about how awful, horrible, painful teething was.  But now I can relate.

Jethro is also quite a toughie when it comes to pain.  When going for his immunisations, he would just sit there and not even flinch when the needle goes in.  Micah is our little cry baby!  Shame, he cannot take the pain.  And is always immensely heart broken that I could allow something like that to happen to him.

Jethro is a big baby when he has a little graze or a tiny paper cut.  Plaster, mercurochrome, dettol, the works, come out!  And then it takes some coaxing and bribing and roleplay to get him to lie still in order for us to apply all these ointments!  I am usually the doctor with patient Jethro!  And patient Jethro must be brave.

A while back we were walking along the esplanade at Blouberg and Jethro was playing on some rocks with his friends, he overbalanced and fell on both his knees on some very sharp rocks.  It looked pretty bad but he carried on like nothing happened.  At home, it looked really bad and we cleaned him up nicely and even added some bandages, not for dramatic effect this time.  My poor boy, it hurts so much when they get hurt!

Back to Micah!  Let's hope the rest of the teeth come out nice and smoothly, without too much pain!  Bless him!
